Designed to carry out experiments that a Bunsen burner can without the use of a gas supply. The electric burner is supplied with a protection grill that when attached minimises the risk of accidental burns. There is a threaded hole in the top plate for a support rod and the outer cover provides holes for the attachment of support trays. Examples of experiments which can be carried out using the electric burner: Combustion of magnesium and other metals, reduction of cupric oxide, boiling water, dehydration of copper sulphate crystals.
